Thay vì đi thẳng vào câu trả lời kiểu Well, I would like to talk about… thì chúng ta sẽ đi đường vòng. Hãy điểm qua 17 mẫu câu đi “đường vòng” khi bắt đầu nói mà bạn có thể áp dụng nè:

Bạn cũng có thể bắt đầu trả lời phần thi IELTS Speaking part 2 bằng cách nói về chủ đề lớn:
In terms of [broad category], there are a few [items/places/events] worth mentioning, but the one that stands out the most is .........
Ví dụ: In terms of favorite foods, there are a few dishes worth mentioning, but the one that stands out the most is pho.
- Numerous Choices
There are numerous [topics/things/memories] I could talk about, but one that really stands out is .........
Ví dụ: There are numerous vacations I could talk about, but one that really stands out is my trip to Thailand.
- Many Options
Cấu trúc câu này cho biết bạn có rất nhiều lựa chọn khác nhau:
I have many [choices/memories/events] to choose from, but I think I’ll share .........
Ví dụ: I have many childhood memories to choose from, but I think I’ll share my first time riding a bike.
- Wide Variety
Bạn cũng có thể nói về sự đa dạng của các sự kiện, địa điểm hoặc đồ vật trong cuộc sống của mình và từ đó làm nổi bật điều muốn nói:
Well, there are a variety of [things/events/places] that I could discuss, but ………… comes to mind first.
Ví dụ: Well, there are a variety of hobbies that I could discuss, but painting comes to mind first.
- Plethora of Choices

Bằng cách nói về những trải nghiệm chung, bạn có thể mở đầu cho rất nhiều câu trả lời liên quan đến các câu hỏi về event, expericence, activitiy...

- Significant Impact
Mẫu câu tham khảo:

Chúng ta có thể sử dụng mẫu câu:

Đưa ra yếu tố so sánh cũng là một cách hay để mở đầu cho phần trả lời của bạn. Chúng ta có thể dùng mẫu câu:
Out of all the [options/things/events] I could choose from, I believe the best one to talk about is .........
Ví dụ: Out of all the vacations I've taken, I believe the best one to talk about is my trip to Japan.
