1. Occur thay cho think of
Ví dụ: Suddenly I had an idea that someone had broken into my house → An idea occurred to me that someone had broken into my house → It occurred to me that someone had broken into my house (Tôi chợt nghĩ rằng có ai đó đã đột nhập vào nhà tôi).
2. Devote thay cho spend
Ví dụ: He devotes all his spare time to reading. (Anh ấy dành hết thời gian rảnh của mình để đọc).
3. Seek thay cho want / look for
Ví dụ: They sought to hide themselves behind the trees. (Họ tìm cách ẩn mình sau những tán cây.)
4. Average thay cho ordinary
Ví dụ: I'm an average student (tôi là một học sinh bình thường).
5. But thay cho very
Ví dụ: The film we saw last night was very interesting → The film we saw last night was nothing but interesting. → The film we saw last night was anything but boring. (Bộ phim chúng tôi xem tối qua rất thú vị).
6. Seat thay cho sit
Ví dụ: On his way to school, he found an old lady seated by the road, looking worried. (Trên đường đến trường, cậu gặp một bà già ngồi bên đường, vẻ mặt lo lắng.)
7. Suppose thay cho should
Ví dụ: He is supposed to have driven more slowly.(Lẽ ra anh ấy phải lái xe chậm hơn.)
8. Appreciate thay cho thank
Ví dụ: We appreciate your help very much. / Your help is much appreciated. (Chúng tôi đánh giá cao sự giúp đỡ của bạn.)

Ví dụ: Every one of us had a ball.(Mỗi người trong chúng ta đều đã có khoảng thời gian vui vẻ)

Ví dụ: Minh is very clever, he often comes up with new ideas. (Minh rất thông minh, anh ấy thường nghĩ ra những ý tưởng mới.)
