The table below shows the population of six large cities in 2017 and 2018 and the change in population between 2017 and 2018. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The table presents population figures for six major cities in 2017 and 2018, showing both the absolute change and percentage increase in population over this period.

Overall, all six cities experienced population growth between 2017 and 2018. Delhi consistently held the largest population, while Lahore exhibited the highest percentage growth rate. Conversely, Shanghai showed the smallest percentage increase in population.

In 2017, Delhi's population was the largest at 27,603,000, increasing to 28,514,000 in 2018—a rise of 911,000 (3.3%). Shanghai, the second most populous city, experienced growth from 24,862,000 to 25,582,000, representing an increase of 720,000 (2.9%). Dhaka also saw significant growth, its population rising from 18,894,000 to 19,578,000, an increase of 684,000 (3.6%).

Lagos, Lahore, and Bangalore, while smaller in overall population than Delhi, Shanghai, and Dhaka, demonstrated substantial growth. Lagos’ population grew by 421,000 (3.2%), reaching 13,463,000 in 2018 from an initial 13,042,000 in 2017. Lahore and Bangalore recorded the highest percentage increases, with Lahore growing by 4.2% (475,000) to reach 11,738,000, and Bangalore by 4.1% (450,000) to reach 11,440,000.
