The diagram below shows the process of electricity production. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Stage 1: Processing raw materials
Coal extracted, transferred to a furnace to be burnt - with oxygen supplied from a factory.
During the burning process, raw syngas which are produced are removed from the furnace. Once the burning concludes -> slag is produced from the furnace.
Meanwhile, Various chemical substances, including CO2, mercy and sulphur are filtered from it -> produce purified syngas.
Stage 2: Producing electricity
Two different directions/ methods:
Direction 1:
Direction 2: Slag produced from the burning process, along with purified syngas power the gas turbine => provide energy to a generator => produce electricity.
Both resulting electricity sources are available for public usage.
The diagram illustrates the production of electricity using coal.
Overall, the process consists of various different steps, beginning with the extraction of coal and ending with electricity being available for mass consumption. These steps can be categorized into two main stages, which are processing raw materials and producing electricity. It is notable, however, that the second stage can be proceeded in two different directions, which will be further elaborated in the fourth paragraph.
The first stage commences with coal being extracted and transferred to a big furnace in order to be burnt, and oxygen is supplied from a factory with the purpose of aiding this process. When the coal is burnt, raw syngas are promptly removed from the furnace. Once the burning concludes, slag is produced and ready to be the needed material in one of the methods to produce electricity in the next stage, while said syngas have to be purified by filtering out various chemicals such as CO2, mercury and sulphur.
In the second stage, as mentioned above, there are two different directions for electricity production. Regarding the first one, slag and purified syngas powers the gas turbine, which provides energy to an electric generator. Meanwhile, the second method utilizes the hot exhaust gases generated from the previously mentioned furnace as the materials instead. Firstly, these gases have to be transferred to a heat recovery steam generator, in which flue gases are extracted. The resulting steam is transported to a turbine, which produces pressure to rotate a turbine and powers another generator. The electricity generated from both methods is then distributed through power lines, ready for public consumption.
