Some people think technology development decreases crime, while others believe it actually encourages crimes. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

1. Bài mẫu band 7.5:
People have different views about whether technological advances deter or encourage crimes. While technology does give birth to some new forms of crime, I believe that on the whole, it helps to decrease the crime rate.
It is true that the progress in technology has brought about new types of crimes. One major felony associated with it is cybercrime, which has caused millions of financial losses and drawn the attention of governments. For instance, hackers attack some company’s database by using a computer virus called ransomware to encrypt important data and ask for ransom before giving the data back. Other cybercrimes include identity theft which could affect most ordinary people. Hackers attack social media companies and steal users’ personal information such as name, date of birth, ID number, credit card number, etc. They then use these data to commit fraud such as applying for credit cards or medical services.
However, despite those cyber crimes mentioned above, I believe that generally speaking, modern technology has reduced the crime rate. Firstly, the surveillance cameras installed in public areas such as malls, streets and office buildings could serve as a deterrent that diverting people away from committing crimes. Secondly, thanks to the help of scientific advances such as DNA technology and many other modern technologies used in crime investigation, detectives nowadays can identify and locate crime suspects in a short period, which significantly reduced the number of criminals at large. Finally, by analyzing personal databases through prediction models, detectives now could arrest the potential offenders and stop them before the crime occurs, which is called crime prediction.
In conclusion, I believe the technology progress could contribute to the reduction of crimes. Yet, people should be educated to apply their technical skills in a productive way.

Advanced technology has improved many sections of folk's life, meanwhile, some of them believe that will decline the number of crimes, thus, there is another statement has said that criminals will find these technologies a good benefit to make offensive actions, who is the right in this argument, and that what we are going to discuss in this essay.
On the one hand, technology in terms of security has proved its ability to reduce the records of criminal activity in many developed countries. When we look at many industries such as banks, restaurants and tourism, we will find that people became safer with systems of supervising. For example: several countries are using systems of controlling citizens by planting chips in their bodies, then they will control everybody where and when is going. that's can successfully cut down the crime in their opinion.
On the other hand, we notice many users of the internet have been stolen by robbers because they were sharing some of their personal information with unknown people. So that encourages many theifs to scam and steal public's information such as banking accounts or other special files, although, many governments and institutions have developed many methods to protect their citizens, even though, hackers are still working to find other ways to treat people and make them petrified.
From my perspective, I honestly believe that technology has solved many problems in our life and it contributed to optimising the quality of service in general, by and large, there is some negative news about the bad use of this technology, but I sincerely hope that scientists will help people to save their privacy and they will ensure that the system of controlling crime will prove its efficiency.

While it's believed that technology development contributes to crimes' downward trend, others deem that it actually encourages more criminal activities. I indeed think that technology has a significant impact on limiting lawbreaking.
Despite being one of the surveillance tools and citizens' protection, some people still hold that technology has counterproductive results. In other words, new criminal types have been introduced to the world because of the internet. For example, cyber crimes have been expanding recently, from violating privacy to committing fraud since most of our work and credit cards are on devices. Therefore, the widespread adoption of technology has led to the birth of intelligent crimes and criminals; however, we can't turn a blind eye to its pivotal role in reducing the number of offences.
Thanks to the developed equipment, many crimes have been stopped. Advanced security systems, cameras, radars, and so on have all contributed to the oppression of offenders. For instance, people have to think twice before breaking the speed limit on the road because they know that there are radars that detect every traffic law violation. Moreover, big institutions like banks or even small shops are now using cameras for protection; thus, the number of robberies decreased in many countries because violaters know that everything is being recorded, so it won't take long for them to get arrested. Consequently, there are many good reasons why spreading technology should be encouraged to tackle criminal activities.
In conclusion, while some people hold that technological advances have created more crime opportunities, there are others, namely me, who believe that thanks to technology, manycrimes have been stopped even before happening and that the idea of being watched is feared by most lawbreakers, resulting in the crime rates decrease.
