It was predicted that with the development of technology, people would have more free time in 21st century. To what extent do you think the prediction has come true?

Write at least 250 words.

II. Phân tích đề và lập dàn ý

1. Làm rõ đề bài

Người ta đã dự đoán rằng với sự phát triển của công nghệ, con người sẽ có nhiều thời gian rảnh hơn trong thế kỷ 21. Bạn nghĩ dự đoán này đã trở thành sự thật ở mức độ nào?

2. Tư duy triển khai nội dung bài viết

• Câu hỏi này xem xét tác động của sự phát triển công nghệ đối với thời gian rảnh của mọi người, liên quan đến các chủ đề công nghệ phổ biến, nhưng cần chú ý đến hướng của "free time".
• Công nghệ đã thực sự nâng cao năng suất và giảm thời gian cho nhiều hoạt động sản xuất, những tiến bộ của công nghệ số, công nghệ mạng, giao thông cũng đã rút ngắn thời gian liên lạc, đi lại hàng ngày của con người, cuộc sống cũng được cải thiện nhờ các thiết bị gia dụng tiện ích đa dạng, tiết kiệm được rất nhiều thời gian.
• Nhưng đồng thời người ta cũng nhận thấy rằng thời gian làm việc vẫn chưa được rút ngắn, người ta vẫn thường xuyên phải làm thêm giờ, điện thoại di động và thông tin liên lạc cũng cho phép liên lạc với mọi người bất cứ lúc nào, lấn chiếm thời gian riêng tư, sự ứng dụng của máy móc cũng đã làm gia tăng sự cạnh tranh trên thị trường lao động, khiến mọi người phải dành nhiều thời gian hơn để học các kỹ năng mới hoặc nhận các công việc bán thời gian để tự trang trải cuộc sống.

3. Lập dàn ý

- Mở bài: Viết lại tiêu đề và đưa phát biểu: Mặc dù nó làm cho mọi người làm việc hiệu quả hơn theo một số cách nhưng nó không làm tăng thời gian giải trí.

- Thân bài 1:  Giải thích rằng sự phát triển của khoa học và công nghệ đã cải thiện năng suất và cho phép mọi người tăng thêm thời gian rảnh rỗi.

- Thân bài 2: Giải thích rằng do sự phát triển của công nghệ, thời gian rảnh của mọi người sẽ không nhất thiết tăng lên.

- Kết bài: Nhấn mạnh vị trí cá nhân, chỉ ra rằng tiến bộ công nghệ thực sự đã cải thiện hiệu quả, nhưng nhu cầu về thời gian của con người cũng thay đổi, con người cần đầu tư nhiều thời gian hơn và sự cân bằng giữa công việc và cuộc sống cá nhân là ở con người chúng ta.

One of the predicted benefits of technological progress in the 21st century was that people would have more free time. While there is no doubt that technology has facilitated automation of many tasks and productivity increase, it is also clear that this has not necessarily translated into more leisure time for individuals.

On the one hand, it is true that technology has revolutionized many aspects of our lives and has allowed us to complete tasks more quickly and easily. In agriculture, for example, the use of machines has dramatically increased efficiency, meaning that farmers can produce more food in less time than ever before. Similarly, the rise of the internet and digital communication tools and the improvements of transportation have enabled us to work from anywhere, reducing the amount of time we need to spend commuting to and from an office. These technological advancements have undoubtedly saved time and make us more productive.

On the other hand, the same technological advancements have also led to an increase in the demands on our time. The availability of digital devices and the internet means that we are always connected and always "on" regardless of locations and time zones. Employees are often required to be available outside of traditional working hours in sacrifice of their free time. Additionally, machines have been replacing human workers in almost every area, which has led to intense competition in the labour market. People thus have to spend more time learning and honing new skills to secure their jobs or they have to work extended hours doing part-time jobs to make ends meet.

In conclusion, while technology has undoubtedly given rise to greater efficiency and productivity in many areas of life, it has not led to more leisure time. Instead, the demands on our time have simply shifted and changed, and it is up to us as individuals to find ways to balance work and leisure time in this increasingly connected and competitive world.
