IELTS Speaking part 1 sample - Housekeeping and cooking

    1. Do you like cooking?

Yes, I quite enjoy cooking. It's a creative and satisfying activity for me. Preparing meals allows me to experiment with flavors, follow recipes, and create dishes that bring joy to both myself and those I cook for.

    2. Would you like to learn how to cook?

Certainly, I believe there's always room for improvement and learning, even in areas we're already familiar with. While I have a good grasp of cooking basics, I'm enthusiastic about expanding my culinary skills by learning more intricate techniques and experimenting with diverse cuisines.

    3. Who normally does the cooking in your family?

In my family, cooking is usually a shared responsibility. Both my parents enjoy preparing meals, and we often take turns based on our schedules. This arrangement not only ensures a variety of dishes but also fosters a sense of togetherness in the kitchen.

    4. Do you think your home is clean and tidy?

Yes, I take pride in maintaining a clean and tidy living environment. I believe an organized home contributes to a peaceful and productive atmosphere. Regular cleaning routines and decluttering help me achieve this goal.

    5. Did you do some house cleaning when you were young?

Yes, I did. My parents encouraged me to participate in household chores from a young age. I would assist with simple tasks like tidying my room, making my bed, and occasionally helping with dusting or setting the table. These early experiences instilled a sense of responsibility and discipline.

    6. What housework do you like or dislike?

I find pleasure in cooking and doing laundry. The act of cooking allows me to express my creativity, and there's a sense of accomplishment when a dish turns out well. Similarly, doing laundry is a straightforward task that provides a feeling of productivity.

On the other hand, I'm not particularly fond of cleaning the bathroom. It's a task that requires attention to detail, and while I understand its importance, I find it less enjoyable compared to other household chores.
