In contemporary society, there is a debate regarding whether individuals are becoming more dependent on each other or more independent. While both views have their merits, the reality is that the level of dependence independence varies based on different contexts, and these traits are not mutually exclusive.
On the one hand, globalization has significantly increased the connections of individuals across the world. Economic, cultural, and political ties have strengthened, making people more dependent on each other. For instance, project difficulty and large workloads in industries often necessitate cooperation to achieve common goals. In modern society, specialization has also become prevalent. Researchers, for example, dedicate substantial time to their research, relying on others for aspects like health and diet. This specialization underscores the growing interdependence among people. Moreover, technological development has amplified this dependence. The proliferation of social media enables people to acquire information and express opinions by relying on others' posts and comments. Additionally, advancements in communication and collaboration tools have made individuals more reliant on technology and, consequently, on each other for effective functioning.
Conversely, there is a strong argument that individuals are becoming more independent. Modern society places a high value on self-realization and independent thinking, promoting the pursuit of personal value and achievements. The development of the internet has empowered individuals to independently access information and solve problems. Remote work has further allowed people to complete tasks without the need for physical presence, fostering a sense of autonomy. Furthermore, the popularization of education has provided more opportunities for self-improvement, enabling individuals to enhance their independence. Through study and research, people can develop skills and knowledge that allow them to tackle challenges on their own.
In conclusion, the notions of interdependence and independence can coexist in today's world. People have become more interdependent in certain areas and daily life due to globalization, specialization, and technological advancements. However, they have also become more independent in terms of personal growth and learning.

The following essay will discuss both opinions, but in my personal view, I believe that people have become more independent nowadays.
Several people believe that mankind has become more dependent on each other these days. Due to the globalisation, the cost of living in many countries has increased significantly in the past recent years which enforce both husband and wife to work hard, to fulfil their family's expenditures. As a result, many families are relying on their parents or babysitters in taking care of their children.
On the other hand, some people think that humans are more independent these days. Firstly, due to the rapid development of the medical world, the average life expectancy of the human being has positively improved. As the senior people are healthier these days, it means that they are less dependent on their sibling or their children. Secondly, with the existence of electronic household devices, such as washing and drying machine and microwave oven, mankind are less dependent on housekeepers. They could just easily place their dirty clothes in the washing machine or just place the frozen food in the oven, and it will be ready in an instant.
In conclusion, many people think that human beings are more independent these days, but others disagree with the statement. In my point of view, mankind is less reliable to others nowadays, since the world has improved in many ways, such as in the medical field and in information technology.
