Even though I am a Vietnamese person and our country is famous for its history. I would say that this question is actually giving me a hard time because I personally forgot mostly the things I learned. So bear with me here.

So in order to answer your question, I would like to talk about the Dien Bien Phu air battle, which happened in December 1972. As I remember, at the time, the US imperialist decided to carry out an air attack by their strategic air force on Hanoi, Hai Phong and some of the neighbouring provinces in the North of Vietnam.

I would say that it was the largest and most modern air raid ever conducted by the U.S Air Force. There were hundreds of B-52 strategic bombers as well as thousands of tactical aircraft. My teacher told me that their purpose was to destroy the morale of Vietnamese army and people. Especially, the main motive after their actions was to force the Government of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam to sign the Paris Agreement with conditions in favour of the United States.

However, contrary to their expectations, with the spirit of “daring to fight and determined to win”, after 12 days of fighting bravely, our military and people shot down most aircraft of various types.

The thing that I find most impressive is that the "Dien Bien Phu in the air" Victory defeated the highest of war and especially it defeated the invasion of the US imperialist. These days, “the DBP in the air” victory has gone beyond our national boundary to become something representing VNese people. That is the reason why I wanna talk about this event today, because it makes me feel very proud of being a Vietnamese person.

I hope that in the future I’ll get more chances to learn about our national history, like historical events and figures and how they sacrificed themselves to fight for the national salvation.
