Anywhere on the school premises, even during break times, the main idea behind this rule is to keep students focused on their studies, but I personally find it a bit restrictive.
The reason I dislike this rule is that it limits our access to information. Phones can be very useful, especially for quick research or for checking facts on the internet. Sometimes, I need to look up something related to an assignment or use an educational app, but I can’t do that due to the restriction. It also makes it harder to stay in touch with my parents if there’s an emergency or if plans change after school.
Many of my classmates feel the same way. They’re often frustrated by the rule and think it’s unreasonable. However, some teachers agree with the ban because they believe it reduces distractions and keeps students focused on their studies. Still, I think there could be a balance where phones are allowed in specific areas or during certain times.
As for myself, I mostly follow this rule, but I have occasionally used my phone discreetly when I really needed to, like to quickly text my parents or check a reference for a project. Although I try to respect the rule, I feel that it could be relaxed a bit to accommodate students' needs without causing too much distraction.

I'm going to talk about a rule that I find a bit too restrictive, which is the “mandatory uniform” rule at my high school. According to this rule, all students must wear a standard uniform every day—a white shirt and navy blue pants or skirt, with no room for any personal touches. The school believes that uniforms help create a sense of discipline and equality among students, but I’ve always felt that it limits our ability to express ourselves.
One reason I don’t particularly like this rule is that wearing the same uniform daily feels quite monotonous and even uncomfortable, especially on hot days when we have to wear long pants or a buttoned shirt. I think it would be more enjoyable if students could wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing, or at least have some freedom to adjust the uniform.
As for other students, opinions are divided. Some think the rule makes things simpler since there’s no stress about what to wear each morning. However, many of my friends and classmates would prefer a bit more freedom to choose our clothes or adapt the uniform a little to our style.
Even though I’m not fond of this rule, I still follow it because it’s strictly enforced, and teachers make sure we’re dressed properly before allowing us into the classroom. There’s really no option but to comply, even if I don’t agree with it. So while it’s not a rule I love, I just go along with it and try not to think about it too much.
Từ vựng IELTS hữu ích:
As far as I’m concerned, students should follow a set of basic rules to ensure a respectful and productive learning environment. To start with, students should be punctual and attend classes regularly. This helps them stay on track with their studies. Another important rule is to show respect to teachers and fellow students, as this creates a positive atmosphere for learning. On top of that, students should follow classroom etiquette, like not interrupting others when they’re speaking and keeping their phones on silent to avoid distractions. What I reckon is that these rules help maintain order and discipline, which are essential for effective learning.
The way I see it, school rules are generally good because they help maintain order and ensure that all students have a fair chance to learn. For starters, rules like respecting others and following a set schedule promote discipline, which is essential for academic success. What’s more, rules like no bullying or discrimination create a safer environment for everyone. That said, some students might feel that certain rules, like strict uniform policies or limited break times, can be a bit restrictive. With that being said, I believe that rules should be flexible enough to accommodate the needs of students, while still maintaining a respectful and productive atmosphere.
In my opinion, violation of rules does occur, though it may depend on the context. For example, in schools, some students might skip classes or not follow certain classroom rules, like using their phones during lessons. That said, in recent years, there’s been more awareness about the importance of discipline, and many schools are taking steps to enforce the rules more strictly. On the other hand, in public spaces, like traffic, violations can be more common, such as people not wearing helmets or driving too fast. Mind you, while violations do happen, people in Vietnam are becoming more conscious of the consequences, and the government is working on improving enforcement.
At home, I believe children should follow some basic rules that help create a positive and organized living environment. To start with, they should help with household chores and respect their parents' rules about study time and bedtime. This not only teaches responsibility but also helps them learn the value of teamwork. Another important rule is to be polite and considerate toward other family members, as this fosters a loving and respectful atmosphere at home. What’s more, children should follow rules related to safety, like not playing near dangerous areas or handling sharp objects without supervision. To share one example, parents might set a rule about screen time, which can help children balance their activities and focus on more important tasks.
