    3. Sample answer

A change that has helped me save a lot of time is creating a weekly schedule and keeping a to-do list. I made this change a few months ago because I realized I was often overwhelmed and wasted time figuring out what to do next. By planning my tasks for the week in advance, I can be much more efficient.

To implement this, I spend some time every Sunday setting up my tasks for the upcoming week. I list out everything I need to accomplish and assign time blocks for each task. I use a digital planner app, which makes it easy to track my progress and adjust things if needed. This way, I don’t have to think about what to do every day; I can just follow my plan.

At first, it was a bit difficult to stick to this routine. I wasn’t used to planning my days so carefully, and it took some discipline to follow the schedule. But over time, it’s become a habit, and now I actually enjoy it because it gives me a sense of control over my day.

I feel great about this change because it has allowed me to get more done in less time and with much less stress. Knowing what needs to be done and when has really helped me stay focused. Plus, having an organized schedule gives me free time to relax without worrying about unfinished tasks. Overall, it’s made my life much more manageable and productive.

    IELTS Speaking part 3

    1. What can schools do to help students learn time management?

Schools can play a big role in teaching students time management by incorporating specific lessons or workshops on the topic. For example, they could hold sessions where students learn to set priorities, organize their tasks, and plan their schedules. Teachers can also assign projects with clear deadlines, encouraging students to divide their work into manageable steps. I think another effective way is for teachers to lead by example, showing students how they manage their own time. This can help students pick up good habits and apply them to their own studies.

    • Play a big role /pleɪ ə bɪɡ roʊl/: đóng vai trò quan trọng
    • Incorporating specific lessons /ɪnˈkɔːrpəreɪtɪŋ spəˈsɪfɪk ˈlɛsənz/: đưa vào các bài học cụ thể
    • Hold sessions /hoʊld ˈsɛʃənz/: tổ chức các buổi học

    • Pick up good habits /pɪk ʌp ɡʊd ˈhæbɪts/: tiếp thu thói quen tốt

    2. Is it necessary for children to learn time management?

Yes, I think learning time management from a young age is essential. When children understand how to manage their time, they can balance schoolwork, hobbies, and rest more effectively. It also helps them reduce stress as they won’t feel overwhelmed with too many tasks. This skill doesn’t only help them academically but will be useful in all aspects of their lives as they grow older. In my opinion, building good time-management habits early on sets a strong foundation for future success.

    • Essential /ɪˈsɛnʃəl/: thiết yếu
    • Balance schoolwork, hobbies, and rest /ˈbæləns ˈskuːlwɜːrk, ˈhɒbiːz, ənd rɛst/: cân bằng việc học, sở thích và nghỉ ngơi
    • Reduce stress /rɪˈdjuːs strɛs/: giảm căng thẳng
    • Overwhelmed /ˌoʊvərˈwɛlmd/: choáng ngợp
    • Sets a strong foundation /sɛts ə strɔːŋ faʊnˈdeɪʃən/: thiết lập nền tảng vững chắc

    3. Do people who can manage time well become successful more easily?

I’d say that people who manage their time well generally have a better chance at success. When someone knows how to organize their tasks and use their time wisely, they’re usually more productive and can handle multiple responsibilities. This often leads to better performance, whether in school, at work, or even in personal life. However, I wouldn’t say time management alone doesn’t guarantee success—other factors like skills, effort, and even luck play a role. But in my view, it’s definitely an advantage.

    • Use time wisely /juːz taɪm ˈwaɪzli/: sử dụng thời gian một cách khôn ngoan
    • More productive /mɔːr prəˈdʌktɪv/: hiệu quả hơn
    • Handle multiple responsibilities /ˈhændl ˈmʌltɪpl rɪˌspɒnsəˈbɪlɪtiz/: giải quyết nhiều trách nhiệm
    • Better performance /ˈbɛtər pɔːˈfɔːməns/: hiệu suất tốt hơn
    • Time management alone doesn’t guarantee success /taɪm ˈmænɪdʒmənt əˈloʊn dʌznt ˌɡærənˈti səkˈsɛs/: chỉ quản lý thời gian không đảm bảo thành công

    4. Do you think parents should be responsible for teaching children to save time?

Yes, I believe parents have an important role in teaching children how to value time. Parents can guide their children by setting routines, giving them age-appropriate tasks, and showing them how to plan ahead. For example, they could encourage their kids to finish their homework before playing or help them create simple schedules. I think that by teaching these habits early, parents can help children understand the importance of using their time wisely, which will benefit them throughout their lives.

    • Responsible for /rɪˈspɒnsəbl fɔːr/: chịu trách nhiệm về
    • Value time /ˈvæljuː taɪm/: quý trọng thời gian
    • Set routines /sɛt ruːˈtiːnz/: thiết lập thói quen
    • Age-appropriate tasks /eɪdʒ əˈprəʊpriət tæks/: công việc phù hợp với lứa tuổi
    • Plan ahead /plæn əˈhɛd/: lên kế hoạch trước

    5. Does technology help people save time? How and why?

Technology can definitely help save time in many ways. For instance, smartphones and apps make it easier for people to set reminders, plan tasks, and stay organized. There are also time-saving tools like online shopping and digital banking, which reduce the need to physically go to stores or banks. At work, people use various apps to collaborate and manage projects efficiently. In my opinion, technology is a valuable tool for saving time, as long as it’s used wisely and doesn’t become a distraction.

    • Set reminders /sɛt rɪˈmaɪndərz/: cài đặt nhắc nhở
    • Stay organized /steɪ ˈɔːrɡənaɪzd/: giữ tổ chức ngăn nắp
    • Time-saving tools /taɪm-ˈseɪvɪŋ tuːlz/: công cụ tiết kiệm thời gian
    • Online shopping /ˈɒnˌlaɪn ˈʃɒpɪŋ/: mua sắm trực tuyến
    • Digital banking /ˈdɪdʒɪtl ˈbæŋkɪŋ/: ngân hàng trực tuyến
    • Collaborate /kəˈlæbəreɪt/: hợp tác
    • Manage projects efficiently /ˈmænɪdʒ ˈprɒdʒɛkts ɪˈfɪʃəntli/: quản lý dự án hiệu quả

    6. What can people do to save time?

To save time, people can focus on prioritizing their tasks and avoiding unnecessary distractions. For example, creating a daily to-do list helps people stay organized and ensures they focus on what’s important first. Another useful approach is to set specific times for checking emails or social media, instead of constantly interrupting other tasks. I think practicing these habits can make a big difference in productivity and help people make the most of their time.

    • Prioritizing tasks /praɪˈɔːrɪtaɪzɪŋ tæks/: ưu tiên công việc
    • Avoid unnecessary distractions /əˈvɔɪd ʌnˈnɛsəsəri dɪsˈtrækʃənz/: tránh sự phân tâm không cần thiết
    • Daily to-do list /ˈdeɪli tə-duː lɪst/: danh sách công việc hàng ngày
    • Stay organized /steɪ ˈɔːrɡənaɪzd/: giữ tổ chức ngăn nắp
    • Focus on what’s important /ˈfoʊkəs ɒn wʌts ɪmˈpɔːrtənt/: tập trung vào những việc quan trọng
    • Set specific times /sɛt spəˈsɪfɪk taɪmz/: đặt thời gian cụ thể
    • Make the most of their time /meɪk ðə moʊst ʌv ðɛr taɪm/: tận dụng tối đa thời gian
